This week on The Pet Show we're jumping into the New Year full force! We've got a really fun show and we hope that you all enjoy it.
Lisa Illman from Kritter Kommunity, LLC joins us to talk about her product called the "Kritter Kondo." This innovative "play pen" for pets can keep them safe while they're indoors or outdoors, and can even be used to help introduce new pets into the household. Tune in to the show on Saturday to see how you can win one of these awesome products!
Tamara Henry of Vanilla Fire Productions joins us via Skype to talk about the new film premiering at Sundance Film Festival next week called "Until They Are Home." The film features some of the first footage ever seen of "The War Kitten," the iconic photo of a Marine in battle during World War II sharing his water with a kitten trapped on the battlefield under a tank. The film made the Oscar short list this year!
"Ask Dr. Katy" is back, and this time we're addressing the controversial issue of green tripe. Tune in to hear Dr. Katy's opinion.
Also, we preview a few events coming up that we hope that you'll join us for. Washington Humane Society's 12th Annual Sugar and Champagne Affair is occurring Jan. 31 at The Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, and "Punish the Deed, Not the Breed" takes place on Feb. 10 at the Baltimore Law School and focuses on breed-specific legislation, and what can be done to protect our nation from vicious dogs without profiling one particular breed.
Finally, the Prince George's County Humane Society brings on the "Adorable Adoptable" Katie who's looking for a home. A 6-month-old Airedale/American Bulldog mix, this big sweet baby would make an amazing addition to an active family!
Tune in at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning to NewsChannel 8! And, check out The Pet Show's Facebook page on Saturday morning to win a Kritter Kondo of your very own! Finally, follow Dr. Katy on Twitter @drkatynelson for regular Shedline News updates!
