Snooki pregnant, admits she lied about it to avoid jinx

Daybreak Daily’s afternoon sing-a-long with the pop-culture world finds a sneaky Snooki, an obit, other things, and the mystery music video.

SNOOKI MAKES BABY: Cue the nervous giggles or eye-rolls of disgust, per the New York Post, “Though she has publicly denied she’s expecting, sources say trashy “Jersey Shore” guidette Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is indeed pregnant and has plans to bankroll her mommy-to-be status into becoming “the next Kourtney Kardashian.” We’re told Polizzi, 24, is carrying her first child by boyfriend Jionni LaValle, and is roughly three months along.”

MEANWHILE: Here’s some of the back story about why she supposedly lied when initially confronted with the rumors, per TMZ, “sources tell TMZ the "Jersey Shore" star had a damn good reason -- she didn't want to jinx herself (and) we're told Snooki is taking the situation very seriously ... especially the taboo about revealing the pregnancy before the 3rd month.”

OBIT: Just the facts, per the AP, “Davy Jones, who helped propel the TV rock band The Monkees to the top of the pop charts and into rock `n' roll history, died Wednesday in Florida at 66. Jones, lead singer of the 1960s group that was assembled as an American version of the Beatles, died of a massive heart attack in Indiantown where he lived, his publicist Helen Kensick confirmed.”

WHITNEY HOUSTON: Nothing nefarious behind her death, per E!, “The pop icon's sudden death on Feb. 11 is expected to be officially ruled an accident, a source with knowledge of the ongoing investigation confirms exclusively to E! News.”

GLEEFUL: Talk about on-set chemistry, per Us Weekly, “After months of downplaying romance rumors, Glee stars Lea Michele, 25, and Cory Monteith, 29, have finally gone public with their relationship, multiple insiders confirm in the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands Friday). "They've been hooking up for awhile," an insider says of the actors, whose characters were about to get married when Glee's February 21 episode ended.”

OPRAH NEWS: While continuing to wonder what she was thinking, per Deadline Hollywood, “The revolving door at OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network continues. The latest high-level executive to depart the struggling cable network is SVP business and legal affairs Alan Saxe, a well-respected executive who ran OWN’s business affairs department.”

CIGARS ALL AROUND: Even if it’s getting to be old hat, per People, “Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are proud parents for the third time. The couple has welcomed a son – named Samuel -- in Santa Monica, a source confirms to PEOPLE. The new addition joins big sisters Seraphina, 3, and Violet, 6.”

MURDOCH MESS: Cleaning house from within, per the Hollywood Reporter, “News Corp.'s stock set a new 52-week high in early Wednesday trading after the entertainment conglomerate run by Rupert Murdoch said that his son and deputy COO James Murdoch has dropped the title of executive chairman, News International, the U.K. newspaper unit embroiled in the phone hacking scandal.”

LINDSAY LOHAN SQUIRMS: A question from Matt Lauer hits a bit too close to home, per Entertainment Tonight, “When Lauer brought up parallels between her and the late Whitney Houston, who also publicly struggled with substance abuse issues, Lohan clearly gets uncomfortable. "I don't want to go there," she says. "That's kind of a scary, morbid thing to discuss."

LEA THOMPSON: She’s 50, and soon to be 51. Wow, per the Los Angeles Times, “The gamine former ballerina could easily pass as a 30-something. In fact, she doesn't look much older than she did in such film as 1983's "All the Right Moves," 1984's "Red Dawn" and of course as Michael J. Fox's mom in Robert Zemeckis' 1985 classic "Back to the Future" and the blockbuster's two sequels.”

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video.
