Daybreak Daily’s afternoon peek behind the pop-culture world curtain finds girls who just want to have fun, an aging rocker, other things, and the mystery music video.

GIRLS DAY: But one of a higher profile, per PerezHilton, “Looks like even pop princesses want to have fun! Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez (and some other friends) brushed up on their culinary skillz recently, baking up some cupcakes as BFFs do! Selena Instagrammed the pics with a caption that read: "Because you need a best friend that's sings beautifully, another best friend to dance with you and another to listen. Oh and cupcakes… Cupcakes."

ADJUSTMENT: There really wasn’t any choice, per the Los Angeles Times, “Of all the people surprised when “Jersey Shore’s” Snooki revealed two months ago that she was pregnant, perhaps none were more taken aback than the executives at MTV. The network’s toppers had been planning to ride the high jinx of Snooki and gal pal JWoww in a new spinoff series titled "Snooki & JWoww," and the idea of following one of its main characters as she spends many of her nights taking it easy at home -- sans alcohol, no less -- wasn’t exactly what they had in mind.”

DR. KING: He has a good man to portray him, per the New York Times, “Before “The Mountaintop” opened on Broadway last fall, there were rumors that this fictional account of Martin Luther King Jr.’s last night before his assassination would present him as a flawed man, one who drinks and flirts with a motel maid. (But director Kenny Leon says) he never would have had anything to do with something “that destroyed the iconic nature of Dr. King.” In fact, he said, when he first read the play, he realized that its innocently childlike King could be played only by “a sensitive actor bigger than life” — his friend Sam Jackson.”

TIED TO THE WHIPPING POST: More or less, per Rolling Stone, “Gregg Allman will undergo diagnostic cardiac testing tomorrow at the Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonsville, Florida to determine whether he needs additional care stemming from his recent hernia operation. Allman received a liver transplant at the same facility back in 2010.”

DONE: So stop those push-ups, per Deadline Hollywood, “The current eight-episode third season of the ABC Family series Make It Or Break It will be its last. The writing has pretty much been on the wall for the gymnastics drama, which first faced cancellation last summer.”

LIVE!: It’s Sarah Palin, per E!, “Live from New York it's...30 Rock! The NBC comedy is staging its second live show tonight, and it's safe to say fans can expect a whole lot of craziness and surprises from the gang when it hits Saturday Night Live's iconic Studio 8H at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.”

GEEZ: Please go away, per Radar, “Nadya "Octo-Mom" Suleman, appearing on Good Morning America Thursday, says she thinks she and her "kids were set up" in regards to a recent controversy that exploded after pictures of her La Habra, California house in a filthy state leaked online, spurring a visit from police and Orange County Social Services Agency to see what was going on.”

LOCAL ANGLE: Ah, the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, per The Hollywood Reporter, “For the 98th iteration on April 28 -- at which Jimmy Kimmel will roast Barack Obama -- there have been 3,800 formal requests for spots in the 2,700-seat ballroom. "And that's not including all of the nonmember news organizations that want to attend," says WHCA president and Reuters correspondent Caren Bohan.”

IN HER HEAD: Of Jennifer Aniston and the engagement of Brad and Angelina, per Us Weekly, “She hates it being brought up because she doesn't really care," says a pal of the actress, who was married to Pitt, 48, from 2000 to 2005; Pitt infamously fell in love with his Mr. and Mrs. Smith costar Jolie, 36, while he was still married to Aniston."{ } { }

WHATEVER: Yawn, per TMZ, “Rosie O'Donnell believes ... if Lindsay Lohan doesn't change her life ... she will end up just like Whitney Houston ... dead. Rosie went back on the "Today" show this morning to expand on why she doesn't believe Lindsay should have been cast as Liz Taylor in an upcoming Lifetime movie ... or ANY role for that matter.”

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video.
