Rihanna is Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive

Daybreak Daily’s afternoon exploration of the pop-culture world finds the so-called sexiest woman in the world, stumbles upon beat-up zombies, and much more.

SHY ABOUT NOTHING: Per Esquire, “Twenty-three years after being born poor in Barbados, eight years after being discovered there by a producer on vacation, six years after being signed by Jay-Z, two years after being savagely beaten by her former boyfriend Chris Brown, nine months after releasing an album that has yielded three number-one singles, Rihanna emerges from the dressing room in full regalia and walks out into the big void under the stands of the Izod Center.{ }

{ }Rihanna doesn't really dance. She exhibits "moves," sure. She dips. Marches. Stalks. Straddles the barrel of a giant pink cannon. Jogs occasionally. But it's not dancing. Altogether it amounts to choreographed oozing.”

MEANWHILE: Per Billboard, “Taylor Swift, the four-time Grammy winner and biggest selling albums artist in any genre for the past 12 months, has been chosen to receive the coveted Woman of the Year Award at the 2011 Billboard Women in Music event on Dec. 2 in New York City. The 21-year-old singer-songwriter is the youngest artist to ever receive the honor, and it comes on the heels of earning several 2011 Billboard Music Awards, among them Top Country Album for the five-time platinum selling "Speak Now."

INJURED ZOMBIES: Per TMZ, “(Sixteen) actors dressed as zombies were injured this morning during an accident on the Toronto set of the horror flick "Resident Evil 5" ... but the costumes were so gory, officials had a tough time assessing the REAL injuries. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the actors were on a set that was on wheels ... when the set suddenly moved, and the 16 actors plummeted roughly 20 feet down to the ground.”

FUNNY: Per Rolling Stone, “Kanye West, the rapper who has embraced wealth and luxury to often absurd extremes on his recent records, showed up at the Occupy Wall Street protest in Manhattan yesterday to show his support for the fight against corporate greed.”

KARDASHIAN ALERT: Per People, “Cheryl Burke has said that Rob Kardashian is "turning into a man" and "changing his way of thinking about himself" as he performs at her side week after week on Dancing with the Stars. Well, he also believes he's changing the way others think about him. "This show is definitely showing [me] in a newer light," he told PEOPLE after Monday's performances. "I feel like [people are] starting to see a different side of me."

SALAHI ALERT: Per Entertainment Tonight, “Michaele Salahi is a proud woman "in love," and she's not afraid to show it! Famous for being a Real Housewife of D.C., Michaele recently made headlines when she fell head over heels in love with Journey guitarist Neal Schon who has her gushing she's "happier than ever." Although she already has that new-love glow, Michaele wanted to go that extra mile for her new beau's Hollywood Bowl concert in Los Angeles, so she made a visit to L.A.'s "Makeup Mandy" in an effort to perfect her "rock star" look for the Tuesday night show.”

WHATEVER: Per E!, “Trick of the light, trick of the fabric...or just a plain trick? The rumor mill went into overdrive yesterday when video of Beyoncé's high-definition interview with Australia's Sunday Night HD surfaced online. And it would have been a rather forgettable chat were it not for one moment at the start of the sit-down, when the pregnant Beyoncé took a seat and her bump, well, took a break. Deflating, crumpling, folding in on itself, however you want to describe it, stills and slow-mos of the seemingly disappearing bump circulated by the dozens and conspiracy theories abounded as to the curious behavior of her baby bump.”

MEANWHILE: Per Radar, “Jessica Simpson is preparing to announce to the world that she is pregnant, has exclusively learned. After weeks of is-she-or-isn’t-she speculation, a source close to Jessica’s 32-year-old and fiancé Eric Johnson revealed: “It’s still early in the pregnancy, and Jessica has decided to wait before sharing her happiness with her fans.”

FRONT RUNNER: Per the AP, “Adele has the year's most popular album with "21," so it makes sense that she's the most nominated artist for this year's American Music Awards. The nominees were announced Tuesday in Los Angeles, and Adele led all nominees with four.”

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video.{ }
