Queen Latifah is ready for Monday!
"I'm stoked about this first show," she says. "This has been a long time coming, so I'm glad that we are finally here."
The premiere week for her brand new talk show kicks off with big name celebrities like John Travolta, Will Smith, Jamie Foxx - and a whole lot more.
"Amazing stories about real people doing unbelievable things to make our world a better place -- so some great great human interest stories," Latifah says.
The singer, producer, actress, and model says that being a talk show host is something she's wanted to do for quite some time. It's an arena where she can apply all of the gifts she's been given:
"There's no other place I could sort of bring all of this under one roof and really be able to give back at the same time."
Latifah also says she's very excited that her show will air right here on ABC 7, since she has family in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. She considers this area a second home.
"Hey Nana, hey Aunty Virginia, hey Aunty Angel!" she exclaims.
"D.C. is such a beautiful city, so I love when people come from around the world to see our nation's capital," says Latifah.
The Queen hopes you'll tune in on Monday, and tells ABC 7's Jummy that you won't be disappointed:
"Just watch the whole week. Just don't go to work. Just forget everything. 4 p.m. be in front of the television channel watching TV."
