Prince William and Kate Middleton sparkle at Queen's royal bash

Daybreak Daily’s afternoon foray into All Things Pop Culture finds a Queen being upstaged at her own gig, whining from Kris Humphries, other things, and the mystery music video.

ROYAL BASH: William and Kate sparkled Monday night at gala honoring the Queen, per E!, “But while nearly all members of the royal family were present and accounted for—Prince Phillip, Prince Charles and Camilla, who dropped by before heading off to the premiere of Hugo, though the newly returned Prince Harry was nowhere in sight—all eyes were, as always, on Will and Kate, who positively dazzled in a sure to be sell-out Mulberry emerald dress.”

COULD BE ANYONE: Newly engaged Anne Hathaway and her fiancé look like regular people at the park – except for the fancy ring, per People, “The actress, who recently got engaged to Adam Shulman, was wearing her engagement ring when she stepped out Sunday in Brooklyn's Fort Greene Park with her new fiancé and her dog, a chocolate Lab named Esmeralda. Shulman designed the ring in collaboration with Kwiat, whose diamonds are certified conflict-free. "Adam he did work with us to design a ring that he knew Anne would love," owner Greg Kwiat tells PEOPLE. "He had a very strong vision for what he knew Anne would love."

MEANWHILE: Five things you should know about the fiancé, Adam Shulman? Well, let’s settle for one, per Us Weekly, “3. Armed with a degree in theater from Brown University, Shulman began his acting career with a stint on NBC's American Bandstand-eque series American Dreams, appearing as Paul O'Bannon in 2005. Later, Shulman became known for his role as Deputy Enos Strate in the 2007 TV movie The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning.”

WHATEVER: Soon-to-be-divorced Kris Humphries doesn’t like how he was portrayed in ‘Kourtney & Kim Take New York.’ Per Radar, “The NBA free agent watched the episode in "utter horror, because it's just not a true depiction about what was actually going on between Kim and Kris," an insider close to the situation tells "Kris did jokingly say that Kim ate too much wedding cake, but what viewers didn't see was Kim nagging Kris about working.”

HOW DARE HE: Fox News chastises President Obama for an unpardonable sin, after which, per the Los Angeles Times, “On Monday night, Jon Stewart mocked the cable network for its over-reaction to President Obama's Thanksgiving address. Just what had he done wrong this time, according to the pundits at Fox? He'd neglected to mention God in the speech.

Stewart saw some irony in the complaints. After all, "Thanksgiving was a bunch of pagans teaching religious zealots how to farm," he said. In any case, it was "not a huge Thanksgiving faux pas"-- especially since Obama was not the first president to leave God out of his holiday greeting.”

UCLA-BOUND: Diddy’s son, that is. Justin Combs has accepted a football scholarship to play for the Bruins, per Access Hollywood, “Justin, a 5-9, 170-pound defensive back, had his choice of big-time college programs to choose from – in addition to UCLA, he was also offered scholarships by the University of Illinois, the University of Virginia and the University of Wyoming. The teen also boasted a 3.75 GPA in high school as a student at Iona Prep in New Rochelle, New York.”

CRITICAL AWARDS: Brad Pitts wins Best Actor, Meryl Streep wins Best Actress and ‘The Artist” wins Best Picture at the New York Film Critics’ Circle Awards, and indieWIRE has a complete list of the winners.

NEW ALBUM FOR DORIS DAY: That’s right. Doris Day. THAT Doris Day. The 88-year-old Doris Day, per the Huffington Post, “ ‘My Heart,’ set for a Dec. 2 U.S. release, has induced Day to edge back to public attention. The CD includes 13 previously unreleased tracks recorded over a 40-year span, including covers of Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful," the Lovin' Spoonful's "Daydream" and a handful of standards. All proceeds go to Day's longtime cause, animal welfare. A condensed version of the album was released in Britain earlier this fall and landed on the top 10 chart.”
