Miranda Kerr nude photo shoot described as 'tasteful'

Daybreak Daily’s afternoon take on the pop-culture world discovers a nude model worthy of an art class, remembers John Lennon on the anniversary of his death, other things, and offers a special mystery music video.

HEY, IT’S ART: Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr has said “she’s comfortable being nude,” and so she is in a new pictorial, per New York Magazine, “The latest images of her are tasteful nudes shot by Willy Vanderperre for the new issue of Industrie magazine to accompany an interview with her by Lee Carter.”

SAD ANNIVERSARY: Today marks Year 31 since John Lennon was killed. Remember where you were? Per the Hollywood Reporter, “The legendary singer-songwriter was shot and killed Dec. 8, 1980, at age 40 in New York by Mark David Chapman at the entrance to the building where he lived. His death came just three weeks after the release of his album Double Fantasy, which marked the first album for Lennon since the birth of his son in 1975.”

TODAY SHOW IDOL: Well, now. Ryan Seacrest reportedly is being wooed by NBC to take a seat beside Ann Curry should Matt Lauer indeed decide to depart. Per the Wall Street Journal, “To be sure, the talks are preliminary and could fall apart at any time. They also may be in part a negotiating tactic for NBC executives, who need a strong backup plan in case Mr. Lauer leaves the show. Mr. Seacrest is one of NBC's top replacement choices, according to people familiar with the matter.”

POP CULTURE AS POLITICS: You be the judge for entertainment value, per the Los Angeles Times, with video, “As part of an all-out ad blitz in Iowa, Rick Perry has released a new campaign ad that makes reference to a “war on religion” launched by President Obama and complains about gays serving openly in the armed forces.”

ANOTHER ADELE ACOLADE: Talk about being on a roll, per the AP, “The British songstress had iTunes' best-selling album and song, and was named as its top artist. Adele's "21" is the year's top-selling album with 4.8 million copies sold. Some of those numbers came from iTunes, where the album was the most popular; following behind was "Sigh No More" by Mumford & Sons, Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV," Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Watch the Throne" and Coldplay's "Mylo Xyloto."

GMA SCOOP: For what it’s worth, per Radaronline, “Kim Kardashian's estranged husband Kris Humphries will be appearing on Good Morning America on Friday, has confirmed.”{ }

NO ENGAGEMENT -- YET: False alarm, per Access Hollywood, “There are no wedding bells in the near future for Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber! Despite photographs of the 19-year-old star sporting what appeared to be a diamond ring on her ring finger, a source close to Selena told that she is not engaged.”

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video.
