Madonna's daughter, Lourdes, shaves her head for funky look

Daybreak Daily’s afternoon trip down the pop-culture slope finds Madonna, Madonna, other Madonna stuff, and the mystery music video.

MADONNA’S IN THE NEWS: Seems her daughter is, as well, per People, “Leave it to Madonna‘s daughter to try a cool new look! Lourdes Leon stepped out on her way to school in New York Thursday, sporting a funky new half-shaved do. The stylish 15-year-old — who’s had long dark hair forever — had her hair up in a bun, bringing extra attention to the edgy style.”

SPEAKING OF MADONNA: This ended well for her – not for him, per the AP, “Police captured a man on Friday who was convicted of threatening to kill Madonna and walked away from a Los Angeles-area mental hospital last week.”

MADONNA, ANYONE?: Told you she was in the news, per the Huffington Post, “Madonna has taken to the airwaves to express her disappointment with M.I.A.'s decision to flip the bird at cameras during the (Super Bowl) halftime show, calling the move a "teenager ... irrelevant thing to do." Madge was chatting with Ryan Seacrest about her performance when he brought up the incident.”

MIDDLE EAST MADONNA: Man, she gets around, per PerezHilton, “Fans have started a Facebook page, titled Bibi don't start a war with Iran until after Madonna's show on May 29, pleading with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”

OSCARS: Just the facts, per Deadline Hollywood, “Emma Stone will present at the 84th Academy Awards ceremony, telecast producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer announced today. It will be her first time presenting on the show. Stone appears in the Best Picture nominee “The Help.”

INVEST SOME TIME: And read this cool piece about the changing nature of rock and roll, per the Los Angeles Times, “Look at the five 54th Grammy Awards nominees for both rock performance and rock song and it’s easy to envision an afternoon stroll through some enchanted forest: “Walk” by the Foo Fighters is competing against “Down by the Water” by the Decemberists, Radiohead’s “Lotus Flower,” “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” by Coldplay, and Mumford & Sons’ “The Cave.” How calming.”

MR. SCHUESTER: He finally got a gig, per Billboard, “Adam Levine, Maroon 5 frontman and a coach on "The Voice," is launching his own record label, called 222. The first artist signed to the label is Matthew Morrison, best known as the character Will Schuester from "Glee,"

CHECK THIS OUT: It’s about Lindsay Lohan, and it’s really weird, per Radar, “When the troubled Mean Girls star stepped out on the red carpet at the 2012 amfAR New York Gala on Wednesday night, even her mane of blonde hair and billowing fur coat couldn’t distract from the obvious changes in her face, and can exclusively reveal what she may have had done.”

MEANT TO POST THIS YESTERDAY: Pretty cool, per Rolling Stone, “Bruce Springsteen has announced that Jake Clemons - the nephew of former E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons - will be taking over some of his late uncle's sax duties on the forthcoming "Wrecking Ball" Tour.”

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video.
