CROSS DRESSER?: Per Rolling Stone, “Lil Wayne wore leopard jeggings to the VMAs the other night and, understandably, his wardrobe choice caused a media sensation. A Twitter account in the jeggings' honor was quickly erected, while speculation pondering the origins of his attire mounted in the style blogosphere. Soon, the finer details emerged: Weezy wore ladies' jeggings from legendary punk brand Tripp NYC, and you can buy them at Karmaloop for $44. Is this a trend about to take off?”

CHANGE OF HEART: Per the L.A. Times, “George Clooney and Grant Heslov were all ready to make "The Ides of March" (a dark story of backroom betrayals during a critical moment in a fictional presidential race) — and then Barack Obama was elected. . . Such glad tidings didn't last long, particularly in Washington. As soon as the healthcare debate and the midterm elections polarized government and the nation once again, the filmmakers recognized that it was time to revive "Ides of March," which hits theaters Oct. 7.”

WE’RE ALL IN THE MOOD FOR A MELODY: Per TMZ, “They're both from Long Island ... they're both terrible drivers ... and now Lindsay Lohan and Billy Joel have something else in common ... his lyrics tattooed on her body -- and TMZ has the photo. IT AIN’T BRUCE AT THE STONE PONY: Per People, “Justin Timberlake put on a free, impromptu concert at the Southern Hospitality barbecue joint in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. The guests included some famous fans, including Kim Kardashian, her sister Kourtney and husband Kris Humphries.”

TELLURIDE TEASE: Per indieWIRE, “Take a close look at the Telluride Film Festival lineup: These are films you’ll be hearing a lot about over the next few weeks during a fall festival swing that begins in Venice, travels to Telluride and continues through to big-city fests in Toronto and then New York. REMEMBER HIM?: Per Radar, “Joran van der Sloot was officially charged with the murder of Stephany Flores by Peruvian authorities on Thursday, is reporting. The Dutchman was arrested in June 2010 and has been held at Lima’s run-down Castro Castro prison. Van der Sloot also remains the prime suspect in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway, who vanished at age 18 while on a graduation trip to the Caribbean island of Aruba.”

POLITICO BLINK: “Legendary songstress Aretha Franklin will join the president in Detroit, Mich., on Labor Day. The singer, who grew up in Motor City, will perform before the president speaks about job creation and celebrates the American labor force with workers and their families.”
