Lauren Bush Lauren honeymoon: Look Good, Feel Better

Daybreak Daily’s afternoon dash through the pop-culture bumps into a Bushie, sees yet another Tony Bennett misunderstanding, and digs on R.E.M.

LBJ, meet LBL: Per People, “The honeymoon in Italy may be over for Lauren Bush Lauren, but that doesn't mean the honeymoon phase of the fashion model and designer's new marriage to David Lauren is. "I literally just got back in town," the newlywed told PEOPLE at Thursday's 27th Annual DreamBall in New York to benefit Look Good ... Feel Better, an organization that helps women who have cancer.

Bush Lauren, 27, a niece of former President George W. Bush, tied the knot with Ralph Lauren's son, David Lauren, in a lavish ceremony earlier this month on the fashion magnate's spectacular RRL Ranch in Colorado.”

OH, TONY: Per the L.A. Times, “Tony Bennett may have gotten himself in hot water with his comments about Sept. 11 to Howard Stern earlier this week. But he also has strong opinions about a less geopolitical topic: MTV’s "Jersey Shore." The performer, who’s set to play a big date at Staples Center this weekend, doesn’t have terribly kind words for the MTV reality hit. “They're all morons and gangsters,” Bennett said of the Situation & Co. “It’s terrible.”

SLUTTY PUMPKIN: Per Entertainment Weekly, “How I Met Your Mother has found its Slutty Pumpkin! CBS confirms to EW that Katie Holmes will step into the show’s iconic (and, until now, mysterious) role for a Halloween-themed episode this season. And after mulling over this choice for nearly an hour…my head hurts.”

YOU BETCHA (WINK): Per TMZ, “Bristol Palin stood face to face with a very ANGRY Sarah Palin hater at the Saddle Ranch on the Sunset Strip last night ... after he screamed at her, "Your mother's a whore." It all went down after Bristol rode the mechanical bull -- when the man shouted, "Did you ride Levi like that?"

THAT DIDN’T TAKE LONG: Per Rolling Stone, “Recently disbaded alt-rock legends R.E.M. will release their first career-spanning retrospective Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011 on November 15th. Few details of the set have emerged, but Rolling Stone has confirmed that the compilation will include a handful of tracks recorded this year after the completion of the band's final album, Collapse Into Now.”

FEAR OF FLYING: Per PerezHilton, “Suck it John Travolta and Howard Hughes! There's a new celeb in the sky! Angelina Jolie was seen getting into an airplane at Blackbushe Airport in Hampshire, England, Friday. And, from what we hear, the 36-year-old actress is taking flying lessons with her and Brad Pitt's 10-year-old son Maddox.”

NEW BOSS: Per the Huffington Post, “What long way he's come from Connecticut and anger management. Once Steve Carrell announced last summer that he was leaving "The Office" following the now-finished season, the world wondered who would replace him as manager at Dunder Mifflin. A guest star-packed finale saw a parade of potential new hires, and after critical acclaim for his turn as the slick Robert California, James Spader netted a job -- not as boss, but CEO. As for the regional manager? Andy Bernard, get ready for some major new responsibility. Also, good luck, and watch out for Dwight.”

SO DID TWIN PEAKS: Per indieWIRE, “Get ready to be seriously creeped out. David Lynch has directed a trailer for the upcoming Vienna International Film Festival (Viennale) and to no surprise, it’s sure to keep you up nights. [Big hat tip to The Playlist]”{ }

LONG LIVE ROCKNROLL: Per E!, “The name's Rocknroll. Ned Rocknroll. But who is he? Other than the bearer of the coolest and/or most ridiculous celebuspawn moniker out there, that is (you had a good run, MoxieCrimefighter). Well, if the British tabloids are to be believed, he is quite literally the fire of Kate Winslet's loins, as her fellow Necker Island vacationer inferno escapee is also reportedly her newfound boytoy. And don't let the kooky name fool you—this Brit's got quite the pedigree.”

NO COMMENT: Per Us, “Late-night lovefest! Just after midnight on Friday, Kate Hudson and fiance Matt Bellamy -- who welcomed son Bingham on July 9 -- were joined by celeb pals and newlyweds Kate Moss and Jaime Hince for dinner at The Marylebone Hotel in London. Also, sharing the meal? Topshop boss Phillip Green. (Supermodel Moss, 37, wed Kills rocker Hince, 47, on July 1 in Southrop, England in a lavish ceremony; the bride wore a custom-made creation by John Galliano).”

VESTA WILLIAMS: Per the AP, “Big-voiced R&B diva Vesta Williams, perhaps best-known for her 1980s hits "Don't Blow A Good Thing" and "Congratulations," has been found dead of a possible drug overdose in a Southern California hotel room. She was 53.”

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video.{ }
