WASHINGTON (WJLA) - It's known as Washington's most interesting mix of music and politics. The annual "Grammys on the Hill" awards ceremony took place in downtown D.C. Wednesday night.
The country music group, Lady Antebellum, was honored for its artistry and its philanthropic efforts for disadvantaged children.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Whip Kevin Mccarthy were honored for their support of music.
As part of the event, music professionals from across the country will meet with lawmakers Thursday. The musicians want to advance policies that improve the environment for American music.
