GMA crew happy but not smug about dethroning TODAY

      Today's zip through the pop-culture HOV lanes finds a happy (smug?) morning infotainment crew, a cheating heart, a movie review, many other things, and the mystery music video.

      WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS: At least for now, per Radar, "The cast of Good Morning America, appearing on Piers Morgan Thursday, said friendships and chemistry have fueled their ratings ride past the TODAY show following a 16-year losing streak to their bickering NBC rivals.

      Morgan welcomed Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion, Lara Spencer, and Josh Elliot onto his show, as the ABC morning franchise surges into the fall season with incredible momentum. This summer, GMA has established a firm grip on the top spot, while the TODAY show seems to be imploding behind-the-scenes, punctuated by the controversial departure of Ann Curry."

      FAMILY FARE: Of a cool move, per the AP, "ABC Family says it green-lighted a series pilot from Jennifer Lopez's production company about a lesbian couple and their diverse family. ABC Family said Thursday the comedy-drama pilot, titled "The Fosters," is about two women raising a "21st century," multi-ethnic mix of foster and biological kids."

      PLEASE: Really. Please, per People, "One day after denying tabloid reports claiming Bachelorette star Emily Maynard had betrayed fiancé Jef Holm, the couple were hurt - but not surprised - to discover the allegations were made by Holm's own brother, Mike Holm."My family all says they are shocked, and obviously I'm shocked," Jef tells PEOPLE exclusively about Mike, who vacationed with the Holms family, Maynard and Maynard's 7-year-old daughter Ricki in Myrtle Beach, S.C., last weekend. "But if everybody knew the history he had with our family, no one would be surprised."

      NO GO: Brad's probably not happy, per Vulture, "Talks have broken off between Sony and director David Fincher for a planned remake of Cleopatra starring Angelina Jolie. The studio is now seeking other candidates (including, but not limited to, Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee - though negotiations have not commenced with Lee, nor has an offer been made)."

      MOVIE REVIEW: An odd coupling, per the Los Angeles Times, "Everything about "Robot & Frank" is as unlikely as it is irresistible. Charming, playful and sly, it makes us believe that a serene automaton and a snappish human being can be best friends forever. Perhaps the most surprising aspect of this Sundance prize winner is the easy way it blends the impeccable old-school acting of Frank Langella with the youthful independent sensibility of a pair of first-time filmmakers."

      THAT 70'S SHOW: Jackie and Kelso, per E!, "Well, this seems like a solid indication that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are getting serious. The "friendly" duowho have been rumored to be dating since Aprilattended the Dodgers game together last night in Los Angeles for a very special double date...with Mila's parents!"

      GOING PUNK: Talking Miley Cyrus, per the Sun, "The 19-year-old former Hannah Montana star was out shopping in New York and couldn't have looked any less preened in her scruffy ensemble. Hanging out with her assistant and friend Cheyne Thomas, she rocked a pair of platform PVC boots, a chunky chain, denim hotpants, a camo jacket and her newly cropped hair. On rumours about her plumping up her pout, she said recently on Twitter: "I definitely don't get my lips injected. It's so sad that people have done so much s*** to their face. People don't believe in natural beauty."

      SPLITSVILLE: Surprise, surprise, per Perez Hilton, "John Mayer and Katy Perry have already split up, after only a few months of dating! The two have been spotted all over Hollywood these past few weeks, getting their PDA everywhere from pool parties to the Soho House in WeHo! A source confirmed the split and said: "She's [Katy's] really upset about it." Another insider added: "She is making it seem like it wasn't serious with John, but she is hurt."

      UM: Whatever, per Celebuzz, "Nadya Suleman may have appeared in a pornography movie, but that doesn't mean the notorious Octomom is loosening her morals. "I still remain celibate to this day - it's almost 14 years now - and I touch no one but myself [in the film]," the star of Octomom: Home Alone told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview."

      WELL NOW: Make a wish and blow out the candles, per Us Weekly, "Emma Stone celebrated her boyfriend Andrew Garfield's 29th birthday by showing off her freakin' flair for fashion. During a trip to a Malibu, Calif., beach Monday, the 23-year-old showcased her slender bod in jean shorts, paired with a white t-shirt emblazoned with the celebratory phrase 'Happy f--king birthday" tied at the middle to flash her taut abs. The duo returned to the water Tuesday to steal kisses in the sand; Stone also watched her Amazing Spider-Man costar boyfriend surf."{}

      {}ELTON JOHN: Of the feud, per the Huffington Post, "Madonna decided to forgive John for the snarky comments he has made about her. Before her Super Bowl performance, the "Rocket Man" pianist bid Madonna good luck by saying, "Make sure you lip-sync good." Then, during an interview with Australian TV, John said Madonna looks like "a (effing) fairground stripper" and said her career is over. After she publicly forgave John, she dedicated her song "Masterpiece" to him."

      AND FINALLY: Today's mystery music video.
