WASHINGTON (NewsChannel 8) - Kenny Loggins fans went "more than halfway" to help a D.C. man's Kickstarter dream of a private Kenny Loggins concert in his living room come true.
Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Erick Sanchez's Kickstarter campaign goal of $30,000 was reached.
Sanchez said he had no plans to sleep until the goal was met. In less than two weeks, the campaign went from a couple thousand dollars to backers pouring in money; $300 would get you an exclusive seat in Sanchez's living room for the concert.
Loggins has said that he would be more than happy to do the private show, if enough money was raised.
Sanchez has since appeared in numerous media publications and even on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
Once his campaign goal was reached, Sanchez told ABC 7 News and NewsChannel 8:
"I'm honored to have the support and pledges of great friends and fine Americans. I'm excited to bring one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our time to the Nation's Capital, and making my living room the 'Danger Zone' with the cross streets being the highway to it."
It's not clear when the concert will take place, but could happen as soon as this fall.
Sanchez said any money raised over the goal would be donated to help breast cancer survivors and caregivers with Imerman Angels, a non-profit organization, because his mother, Yolanda, is a breast cancer survivor.
