Arch Campbell Show: Wolf of Wall Street, Grudge Match, Mandela, Walter Mitty

(WJLA) - Greed goes wild in “The Wolf of Wall Street,” which is based on the life of a broker who turns a penny stock boiler room into a money machine – and plows the profits into sex, drugs, and just plain excess.

The film starts strong, with great turns from Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill, but runs three hours with no resolution. 2 stars and an ‘R’ rating.

Sly Stallone and Robert DeNiro play geezer fighters in "Grudge Match" who get back into the ring to settle a score. Do they need money or just attention? Just 1 star.

Meanwhile, "Mandela" captures the life of the man our world celebrated. Idris Elba makes his journey from radical to peacemaker. 3 stars, ‘PG-13.’ It’s the right time for a straightforward biography.

"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" revises a classic, with Ben Stiller as a laid-off milk-toast who finds the courage for a global adventure. It lacks spark, however. 2 stars, ‘PG.’

Joaquin Phoenix’s computer has artificial and emotional intelligence in ‘HER,’ with the voice of Scarlett Johansson.

Holiday best bets: American Hustle, Philomena, Saving Mr. Banks, Gravity, 12 Years A Slave, and Nebraska.
