Arch Campbell Show: Melissa McCarthy delivers laughs in "Tammy"
(WJLA) - Melissa McCarthy plays yet another riff on that outrageous character from “Bridesmaids” in “Tammy.”
She loses her job, wrecks her car, and finds her husband with another woman – so she grabs her grandmother, played by Susan Sarandon, to go on a raunchy road trip.
“Tammy” delivers a steady stream of laughs. One of these days, we’ll get tired of this act, but not quite yet. 2.5 stars and am “R” rating.
Also opening is “Earth to Echo,” which is like an “E.T.” for today’s high-tech kids. A winning cast polishes this small gem worth 3 stars that’s great for families.
Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightly also make beautiful music in “Begin Again,” an indie romance with heart worth 3.5 stars. It’s a weekend best bet along with “Chef” and “The Fault in Our Stars.”
