Arch Campbell: 'Gravity' looks to be Oscar night's biggest winner
(WJLA) - Gravity looks like it will be Oscar night’s biggest winner. Ten nominations include many technical categories that Gravity will most likely sweep. The accumulation just might put the film over the top as Best Picture.
Meanwhile, 12 Years a Slave has nine nominations. Supporting actress Lupita Nyong’o has the best chance at winning that category. The film started awards season as the Best Picture favorite, but Gravity’s technical strength will prevail.
American Hustle’s ten nominations include all of the acting categories. However, comedies rarely win the big price.
Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto have impressed viewers with the Dallas Buyers Club, and hold the favored spot for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
Cate Blanchett has won almost every major award for Best Actress this season for Blue Jasmine, and may just do so again at the Oscars.
Arch Campbell’s personal opinion? Gravity will win the most wards, including Best Director and Best Picture. Matthew McConaughey will win Best Actor and Cate Blanchett will win Best Actress.
