Alison Starling's baby: Leon's sweatpants, the big sonogram, and it's a girl!
Check out those four! My caption for this photo is "Our first three babysitters." What's yours? Email it to email@example.com.
Now that I have your attention, more on Leon's sweatpants later. But first...
We recently had our 20-week sonogram, and we were so thrilled that our baby's development is right on track and it's a she. She already has my husband wrapped around her little finger.
Sticking with our past produce theme... they say the baby is now the length of a banana. We are halfway there and pregnancy emails say the baby is swallowing more which is good practice for her digestive system.
There is a lot of movement now... I've only felt slight "thumps" or popping, but I'm more and more confident they are the baby and not digestion! I read Kate Middleton was asked if the baby is moving or kicking and she said, "Yes it is, very much!"
Another fascinating fact: the hair on her scalp (the baby's, not Kate's) is also growing at this 5-month point.
I sincerely appreciate the emails and advice I received this week, including from Vivian Rapport Katz, who wrote, "Walking is good exercise, eat healthy foods, drink the fluids...doctors and nurses say you can drink. Fruit is real good and vegetables. Stay away from salty foods."
I couldn't agree more. I find lots of sodium makes me feel terrible.
And Brenda Woodruff wrote "Congrats! Yes, you are absolutely drained when you are pregnant - no other word to define it. It will get better though - you have gone through the hardest part. Take naps whenever you can."
Brenda, we are on the same page with naps!! Thank you for all the feedback.
Now, to the story of Leon's sweatpants, and I'm sure you're wondering how this fits into my pregnancy.
One night last week we taped our "promos" for the 11 p.m. news. After we finished, I looked at Leon and said, "I'm not feeling well." I ran as fast as I could to the closest bathroom.
Suffice it to say, I didn't quite make it.
I got sick, partially in the right place and the rest down the front of my pants. (I know, TMI)
Panicked that I had to anchor the news in less than an hour without a change of clothes, Leon said, "I think I have an extra pair of sweatpants in my car!"
Yes, friends, I anchored the 11 p.m. newscast wearing Leon's sweatpants.
There is a picture, but it will stay in hiding!
I'd love to hear from you this week about your can't live without baby gear, and I'm looking for a really functional and cute diaper bag. Any favorites out there?
