      Adidas shackle sneaker scrapped

Adidas has scrapped plans to sell a controversial new sneaker.

The high-top included a shackle-like ankle cuff some critics said resembled a symbol of slavery. The company has apologized.

In a statement, Adidas said its focus was to showcase a unique take on fashion by designer Jeremy Scott.
