'Two and a Half Men' co-star: show is 'filth,' don't watch it

Today’s visit to the pop-culture pulpit finds an apparently “born again” actor, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie talking marriage, a stunned Lindsay Lohan, other things, and the mystery music video.

EVEN CHARLIE SHEEN DIDN’T GO THIS FAR: Talk about biting the hand, Angus T. Jones raises plenty of eyebrows with this one, per The Wrap, “An online interview (has) emerged in which he described "Two and a Half Men" as "filth" and urged people not to watch it. Many met the remarks with skepticism, in part because of their context: He made them in a poorly edited testimonial to a religious figure who calls himself The Forerunner and argues that rappers like Jay-Z and A$AP Rocky support Satanism with occult messages in their music and videos.”

MEANWHILE: Mom’s not happy, per the Daily Mail, “The mother of Two and A Half Men star Angus T. Jones has spoken out to say he is being 'exploited' by his church after he branded his hit show 'filth' in an extraordinary religious rant. Carey Jones, 42, told MailOnline she was worried for her famous son. 'I'm concerned he's being exploited by the church,' she explained, but refused to comment further.”{ }

DOES IT REALLY MATTER?: Apparently to the kids, it does, per People, “Put the champagne on ice. It appears Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's long-awaited wedding isn't far off – and that's from someone who would know. "I am getting more pressure from my kids, and it is something I want to do within their lifetime, but I also feel like the time has come," Pitt said Monday night at the premiere of his new film, Killing Them Softly, in New York.”

OBIT: Just the facts, per Deadline, “Marty Richards, producer and philanthropist, died yesterday at age 80. The New Yorker’s stage producing credits included Chicago, Sweeney Todd, La Cage aux Folles, and Crimes of the Heart.”

HUNGER GAMES: Lights, camera, action, per Entertainment Tonight, “Jennifer Lawrence suited up and headed to higher ground for her latest scenes in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Playing the brave Katniss Everdeen, Lawrence was seen in a curve-hugging, futuristic wetsuit for her scenes on the shores of Hawaii. The actress stood on top a pedstal of some kind as camera crews surrounded her.”

HOW WONDERFUL: The first four words say it all, per TV Line, “Boy Meets World fans, meet the best news you’ll hear all day. TVLine has learned exclusively that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have officially signed on to reprise their roles as Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence in the red-hot Disney Channel pilot Girl Meets World.”

STINGING CRITIQUES: Of Elizabeth Taylor – or not, per the Huffington Post, “Friends say Lindsay Lohan wasn't prepared for the harsh criticism of her Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick." And instead of providing the career comeback the troubled star expected, her performance has left many wondering if she will ever be taken seriously as an actress again. . . The Hollywood Reporter compared the Lifetime drama to a "Saturday Night Live" skit. The New York Times accused the actress of “sleepwalking through scenes,” while Entertainment Weekly made fun of Lohan’s “frozen face” and “blank stare.”

FOLLOW-UP: The envelope, please, per indieWIRE, “The 22nd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards were handed out tonight in New York, and Indiewire has a complete list of winners. The ceremony was hosted by "Sleepwalk With Me" director and star Mike Birbiglia (whose opening monologue didn't exactly win over the crowd at the ceremony).”

GET OVER IT, MOM: Stop the fruitless pining, per Radar, “As Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis stroll hand-in-hand on their romantic Italian getaway, his estranged wife Demi Moore is once again fighting with her daughters, this time over her inability to let their soon-to-be ex-stepfather go from her life, a source tells exclusively. Rumer, Scout and Tallulah Willis want their 50-year-old mother to divorce Ashton now, a year after he was caught cheating on her, so she can finally end that chapter of her life.”

DWTS: Oh, the suspense, per Access Hollywood, “Is Melissa Rycroft on her way to her first mirrorball win? Could Shawn Johnson be adding a supersized new trophy to her awards cabinet, or will it be actress Kelly Monaco who gives the acceptance speech on Tuesday night while picking up the most coveted “Dancing with the Stars” prize of them all? After Monday night’s high flying, emotional and stunning competition round, the “Dancing with the Stars: All Stars” title is still anyone’s game.”

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video.
