WASHINGTON (WJLA) – Who you gonna call?

For fans of the action-comedy "Ghostbusters," it’s time to party like it’s 1984. Movie theaters across the country will celebrate the movie’s 30th anniversary starting Thursday when the movie is re-released in over 700 theaters.

Originally released in the summer of 1984, "Ghostbusters" features Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson as a group of spirit-exterminators who fight off evil spirits trying to take over Manhattan in New York.

A sequel, "Ghostbusters II" was released in 1989.

Several D.C. area theaters, including Regal Potomac Yard in Virginia, Regal Gallery Place in D.C., Regal Majestic 20 in Maryland, and more, will have showings of "Ghostbusters".

Both movies will also be released in a boxed Blu-ray set on Sept. 16.
