'American Hustle' review

(WJLA) - As we near the end of 2013, some of the best movies of the year are being released just in time for Oscar consideration.

"American Hustle" is in theaters this weekend.

David O. Russell, the director who brought us "The Fighter" and "Silver Linings Playbook," hits a home run in "American Hustle," a dazzling story of con men and women.

Christian Bale meets his soulmate, fellow con artist Amy Adams in "American Hustle." Their schemes pay off until FBI agent Bradley Cooper snags them and pulls them into the Abscam scandal, an actual 1970’s sting operation that brought down a big city mayor, some congressmen, and a senator.

With Jennifer Lawrence as Bale’s volatile wife and Jeremy Renner as an urban mayor trying to help his city, "American Hustle" makes your head spin with a combination of great performers and an over-the-moon script.
