U.S. News best high schools

Alexandria's Thomas Jefferson High School is the fourth best high school in the United States, according to U.S. News and World Report's 2013 list.

The Fairfax County public school ranked only behind schools in Dallas, Tucson, Ariz. and Lawrenceville, Ga. on the annual ranking, which is based on a school's performance against others in its state, performance of disadvantaged students and how college ready its students become.
