School bans Uggs to prevent cell phone smuggling

The Examiner reports:

Administrators at a Pennsylvania middle school banned the popular sheepskin boots called Uggs and other open top boots after students repeatedly smuggled in cell phones and food.

At Pottstown Middle School, students are already required to keep their cell phones in their locker. The ban will require students to change out of the boots when they arrive.

First time offenders will receive detention. Subsequent violations earn two detentions, and still more will result in confiscation of the phone, which is probably the most severe thing a teen can imagine.
