A local college student was looking forward to spending the summer in her native country of Mongoliaonly to be disappointed.

When it was time to leave, the trip she booked and paid for, was nowhere to be found.

"I left the country when I was little, I had to be there," said George Mason sophomore Yesuu{}Munkhbat.

"I hadn't been there in eight years, I had to see my family, I was so emotionally prepared, I was so excited too, it's been forever," she said.

Planning months in advance and hoping to save some money, she bought her tickets earlybooking through travel website Orbitz for about $1,250. Her paperwork shows she was confirmed on the flightsbut, when she got to Dulles Airport, the day of the trip, she tried to check in, but was told there was nothing under her name.

Her only option that day was to book another flight for $1,300.

"That's my monthly tuition, and I was working full time to find that moneyI worked hard," she said.

After months of trying to get her money back, she called 7 On Your Side for help.

"At first I was so angry and then I started crying because I was so upset," she said.

In a statement, Orbitz tells 7 On Your Side that the tickets were "properly issued," but that the site "worked with the airlines involved and secured a full refund...as well as the additional funds she spent purchasing a new ticket."

"The airline tickets for each leg of Ms. Munkhbat's trip were properly issued by Orbitz and seats on the aircraft were confirmed by each of the airlines. Orbitz has, on behalf of Ms. Munkhbat, worked with the airlines involved and secured a full refund for all unused portions of her trip as well as the additional funds she spent purchasing a new ticket, according to Marita Hudson-Thomas and Orbitz spokeswoman.

"I don't think we could have done it without you, they were avoiding my calls and emails, and now I have my refund,"{}Munkhbat said.
