Federal employees furloughed by the government shutdown have the opportunity to learn some new skills through free college courses offered by Georgetown University.
The university is offering its second round of classes through its School of Continuing Studies and Center for Continuing and Professional Education. The initial classes offered earlier in the month filled up within days.
The classes are designed to be relevant for government employees, the university says. Each course is one to four days in duration and is scheduled during the weekday.
Employees are limited to one class each and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
