640,000 Los Angeles students to get free iPads

By the end of 2014, each of the 640,000 students in the Los Angeles Unified School District will get a free iPad, Citeworld reports.

The district will begin distributing the first of 31,000 iPads this school year, with hundreds of thousands more getting the technology by late next year.

They were afforded the ability to distribute iPads to every student between kindergarten and 12th grade in America's second-largest school district through a $30 million project.

Citeworld says that each of the iPads will have applications and programs preloaded to use in and out of school.
