Woman charged after leaving elderly family member on the floor in ‘deplorable conditions'
WOODBRIDGE, Va. (ABC7) —
A woman was arrested and charged after leaving a 97-year-old family member on the floor in "deplorable conditions," according to the Prince William County Police Department.
Police said they responded to a home around 5:20 p.m. on April 26 for the report of possible neglect of an elderly adult. Upon entering the residence, police said they found a 97-year-old woman on the floor in "deplorable living conditions."
According to police, the woman had fallen off the couch around 9:30 a.m. and was left there.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Following an investigation, police arrested family member Aida Touset, 72, and charged her felony neglect of an incapacitated adult. She is currently being held on a $10,00 bond. A court date has not been set at this time.
