Police: Woman allegedly steals charter bus from employer, leads troopers on chase in Md.
PERRYVILLE, Md. (ABC7) —
A 24-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly stole a charter bus from her employer and led state troopers on a high-speed chase in Perryville, Maryland.
Mellat Zerihun Kassa is currently being held without bond, according to Maryland State Police.
The bus company contacted police to report the stolen green and white Omni charter bus was being driven by Kassa.
According to police, Kassa was not answering her phone, ignored her bus route, didn't stop to pick up passengers, and decided to travel through Maryland.
A trooper tried to make a traffic stop, but Kassa was changing lanes and sped away in the bus as police followed her along I-95.
Police say Kassa drove until she arrived at a toll plaza. She exited the bus and was arrested.
