Police: 1 dead, 1 injured in murder, burglary in Fairfax Co. reportedly connected

A man died and another man was injured following a murder and burglary early Friday morning in Springfield, Virginia that police believe are connected.

Officers found Kieron Hart,29, of Springfield, with severe trauma to the upper body in an alley behind a restaurant. Hart was taken to an area hospital where he died. A death investigation was launched by detectives.

Police say another man, Jay Fasick, was spotted breaking into a business and officers located him inside. Fasick was taken to an area hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation shows that after the argument, Fasick broke into the pet store.

Detectives are not sure if Fasick's injuries came from the argument or the burglary.

Fairfax County Police confirmed the murder as a stabbing Friday evening. The incident occurred in the 7200 block of Commerce Street in Springfield Plaza.

Police say the burglary took place in the 6400 block of Springfield Plaza.
