Sherman Circle robberies under investigation by MPD

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Metropolitan police are investigating a trio of crimes, two attempted robberies and a successful one, near Sherman Circle in Northwest Washington.

Police believe all three crimes are related. The suspect in all three is described as a black male, wearing black clothing and a black hat and armed with a shotgun.

The first attempted robbery occurred at Sherman Circle and Crittendon Street NW just after 7 a.m. and the second occurred just a five minutes later along the 4700 block of 8th Street NW.

Shortly after the second attempted robbery, police responded to a successful robbery at 5007 New Hampshire Ave. NW.
