D.C. missing teen: Police officer's apartment searched
WASHINGTON (WJLA) - The search for a missing teenager in the District of Columbia led investigators to the apartment of an MPD officer where the girl was found, sources say.
A number of squad cars could be seen outside a Southeast Washington apartment complex Wednesday as officers went in and out of a unit reportedly belonging to a D.C. police officer.
Multiple sources say that the search was part of a routine investigation into a missing juvenile. When they entered the apartment, sources say officers found both a missing 15-year-old girl and an unknown quantity of drugs.
The officer in question serves Washington's 7th District, sources say.
This is the second time this week that a police officer from the 7th District has been involved in an investigation. Officer Marc Washington was recently charged with producing child pornography after allegedly taking nude photos of a 15-year-old girl.
