Police identify, charge suspect in deadly weekend shooting in Prince George’s County

Jajuan Johnson, 26, of the 2000 block of Marbury Drive in District Heights, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as related charges, Prince George’s County police announced Tuesday.

Police have identified and charged a man in the weekend shooting death of another man Saturday.

Jajuan Johnson, 26, of the 2000 block of Marbury Drive in District Heights, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as related charges, Prince George’s County police announced Tuesday.

According to police, officers responded to a reported shooting Saturday in the 3300 block of Walters Lane in Forestville around 3:35 p.m. Upon arrival, they found an adult male with gunshot wounds to his body inside of a liquor store.

The man, who was identified Monday as 33-year-old Thomas Corry of Arnold Road in Suitland, was taken to the hospital where he later died, according to police.

Police said Johnson started a dispute with Corry inside the store before shooting him and fleeing the store. He was arrested not long afterward when he was located by patrol officers.
