Police: 22-year-old man arrested for alleged human trafficking at Virginia hotel
SPRINGFIELD, Va. (ABC7) —
A 22-year-old Virginia man was arrested after police say they received a tip over the weekend "regarding victims being held against their will at a local hotel."
According to Fairfax County police, detectives responded to the hotel located in the 6200 block of Brandon Avenue in Springfield and located a victim in the lobby and two more inside the hotel. Furthermore, police say while at the hotel, detectives were able to spot Jamon Kanee Murphy of Fredericksburg as the alleged trafficker and he was arrested.
The 22-year-old was charged with "two counts of commercial sex trafficking, two counts of abduction with a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon," police stated in a press release.
