Police in Fredericksburg, Prince William County and Fairfax County believe a string of at least 12 recent robberies across the region could be related.

The most recent robbery happened Wednesday around 1 p.m. Police say two men walked into a convenience store at 6550 Edsall Road in Mount Vernon, assaulted the cashier and stole money.{ }

Charlie Brown manages the Edsall Park Exxon, which was hit just two days ago.

"Well I'm pretty disappointed,” Brown says. “It's not good to be robbed."

Rjun Karpi was alone in the store when it happened…

"I'm just shocked," Karpi says.

Karpi says one of the men asked to stay in the store for a bit to cool down.

He then grabbed an ice tea and paid for it, at which point Karpi tried to give him change.

Another man came inside. The two of them wrestled away the cash drawer, got it and fled.

“This is a good neighborhood. You don't expect something like this especially in the middle of the day,” Karpi says.

Just after 7 p.m. on Aug. 9, police say two men walked into the Sunoco on Annapolis Way in Woodbridge and demanded cash. One of the suspects was armed. Edward George Russell, 23, is wanted on robbery and other charges. A second suspect has not been identified.

Three days later, police say the Shell on River Heritage Boulevard in Dumfries and the 7-Eleven on Old Mount Vernon Road in Alexandria were robbed at gunpoint by three black men.

The following week on Aug. 21, the KFC on Devils Reach Road in Woodbridge was robbed. That same day, police responded to the 7-Eleven on Huntington Avenue in Alexandria for a robbery.{ }

The following day, the 7-Eleven on Cloverdale Road in Woodbridge was robbed. Police also responded to an attempted strong arm robbery in the 6300 block of Backlick Road in Springfield.{ }

The{ }following afternoon, the Shell on Plank Road in Fredericksburg was robbed. And on Aug. 24, the 7-Eleven on Old Keene Mill Road in Springfield was robbed.{ }

Charlie Brown only hopes it doesn't happen again.

"I just hope they put them away,” Brown says. “Let's get some justice"
