WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Police say several people in Southeast Washington were held against their will for hours following a home invasion Wednesday. A man was also allegedly tortured and sexually assaulted.
Police responded to the home in the 4200 block of Southern Avenue SE shortly after 3:30 a.m.
The crime has sparked fear in the community.
"I just hope and pray it don't happen to me and anyone I know," says Joncia Dorsey, who lives nearby.
Neighbor Thomas Hebb is shocked by the gruesome nature of the crime.
"I mean, that is shocking to me, you know, because you never dream as I am living here that something like that could even happen."
Police are on the lookout for four suspects. They have not been identified.
