Manassas heist, $400,000 in jewels stolen

MANASSAS, Va. (WJLA) - Police in Manassas are looking into a high-priced heist. It happened at a home on Makelys Way on Saturday, November 9th.

The owner says he and his family were not at home when someone broke in and stole $400,000 in jewels.

"First of all, I didn't know any of my neighbors were that well off," said Mike Moran, a neighbor. "And I should be a little friendlier. But total surprise."

Police say they've checked local pawn shops and other locations, but the jewels have vanished without a trace. Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information. But they admit there are few leads in this jewelry heist mystery.
