Man assaulted, robbed with baseball bat by 8 boys in Laurel, police say
LAUREL, Md. (ABC7) —
Police say a man was beaten when eight male juveniles, including one with a baseball bat, assaulted and robbed him Thursday night.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department says the victim was struck and knocked down to the ground by a baseball bat after the eight boys surrounded him in the 200 block of Red Clay Road in Laurel. Once on the ground, several other of the boys kicked the victim and stole his property.
According to police, the victim was transported to Laurel Regional Hospital for injuries that were not life threatening.
Authorities say officers responded to the incident around 9:22 p.m.
Officers, with help from a police K9 unit, searched the area but did not find any suspects.
Police describe all eight boys as black males. Four are said to have thin builds with afro hairstyles, three have a medium build and one wearing a red shirt has a large build.
