LANDOVER, Md. (WJLA) - A woman was found murdered in her Landover home on Monday, just one block from where a 3-year-old girl was killed last week.
Prince George's County Police said the woman, 36-year-old Shauntelle Marie Lewis, was found dead in her end-unit townhouse, located in the 6800 block of West Forest Road, by a family member shortly after 9 a.m.
Authorities told ABC 7 News that the family member, who was babysitting the victim's two children, became concerned when she didn't hear from Lewis for some time; so she used a key to enter her home and found the body.
There were signs of trauma to the body, but there were no signs of forced entry to the home, investigators said.
Detectives spent the morning canvassing West Forest Street, talking to Lewis' neighbors. Authorities also offered a $25,000 reward through the Crime Stoppers program for information in the case.
Monday's crime scene was in the same neighborhood where where little Knijah Bibb was shot dead in her home a week ago this past Sunday.
Police have said Knijah was an unintended victim of the gunshots fired into a home at 6915 Forest Terrace. An arrest warrant was issued for the suspected shooter, 25-year-old Davon Antwan Wallace of Landover, who remains on the loose; another man has been arrested for supplying Wallace with the gun he used.
