A former professional boxer indicted on charges that he spent money from D.C. intended for his nonprofit youth program pleaded guilty.

Keely Thomas, executive director of Keely's District Boxing and Youth Center, pleaded guilty to a charge of wire fraud Wednesday in D.C. federal court.

Authorities say he improperly used $205,000 in funds, including spending $105,000 on gambling at an Atlantic City casino and $50,000 on concerts, speeding tickets, groceries and restaurant meals.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 9.
