An Alexandria man was sentenced Thursday to 12 years and seven months in prison on charges of distribution and possession of child pornography.{ }

Prosecutors say Jeffrey Klenk, 25, contacted a man he believed to be the father of an underage girl on a social networking site last October. That man turned out to be an undercover officer.

For a month, prosecutors say Klenk used his home computer to send the undercover officer 45 unique images of child pornography, including several pictures of child erotica and clothed and unclothed children.{ }

On Oct. 18, 2012, police recovered about 13 videos and over 325 images of child pornography from Klenk's computers. He was arrested and charged.{ }

Following his release, Klenk will be placed on 25 years of supervised release. He must also register as a sex offender for 25 years.{ }
