CHILLUM, Md. (WJLA) - A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a pair of sexual assaults that happened in late October in a Prince George's County neighborhood.

Emerito Chicas-Savala, a Silver Spring resident, is already in custody on a sexual assault in Montgomery County, and authorities believe he is behind the Oct. 29 assaults.

The assaults happened with 15 minutes of each other in an area near the Plaza Apartments, which are located next to Northwestern High School on Adelphi Road.

In the first incident, Prince George's County Police say that the suspect robbed a pair of victims before sexually assaulting one of them.

About 15 minutes later, police believe Chicas-Savala struck again nearby.

Both assaults happened about 8 hours after a sexual assault in Montgomery County that they believe the suspect was behind as well, police spokesperson Julie Parker said.

Prince George's County Police officials say they used DNA evidence recovered from the victims of all three assaults to track Chicas-Savala down.

More than a week after the attacks, authorities released a sketch of the suspect, but it took more than a month to track him down.

Chicas-Savala faces life in prison if convicted on numerous sexual assault and robbery charges, Parker said.
