A third shooting in the span of several days in Southeast D.C. left three people injured and a suspect on the loose, police say.
The most recent triple shooting happened while three men were playing dominoes on Elvans Road Southeast near Stanton Road. MPD officials say two suspects came up behind the men and shot them.
Police patrolling the area heard the shots and quickly responded. They found one of the men shot in the back. The two other men, one shot in the arm and leg, the other in the leg, were found at a nearby apartment.
This shooting happened just about two days after four people, including two teenagers, were shot just up Stanton Road SE near Douglas Place on Saturday night. Those four victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
Two suspects are being sought in that case as well.
Just a night earlier, during a string of shootings throughout D.C., several people were shot along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.
