An Edgewater homeowner snatched a suspected burglar in his own home Saturday afternoon.
The man tells police he was watching television around 2 p.m. when he noticed a suspicious man walking in his driveway. He caught up with Matthew Thomas Chrismer, 29, in his garage. The man immediately threw Chrismer to the ground because he thought he had a weapon.
Meanwhile, the man's wife called 911 and his 8-year-old son ran to a neighbor's house for help. The neighbor helped to detain Chrismer until police arrived.
Police say Chrismer had stolen alcohol and other items from the refrigerator in the garage. He was charged with first and third-degree burglary.
