Deputies rescue 2 small children left alone in hot vehicle at Va. shopping center
LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (ABC7) —
Deputies rescued two small children left alone in a hot vehicle at a shopping center parking lot Thursday afternoon in Ashburn, Virginia, authorities said.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, the deputies arrived on the scene around 3:30 p.m. to find two children crying in a vehicle while their mother was inside a shopping center. Due to high temperatures outside, a deputy entered the vehicle through unlocked doors and safely removed the children. Highs on Thursday were around 81 to 85 degrees.
Authorities say the children were evaluated by rescue personnel and were unharmed.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and Loudoun Child Protective Services are investigating this case.
