D.C. Police: Officer dragged by driver in Northwest during traffic stop
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
A D.C. police officer was dragged by a driver that had been pulled over for a traffic stop early Thursday morning, authorities report.
According to D.C. police, an officer stopped a Nissan Altima in the vicinity of 12th and New York Avenue Northwest around 2:30 a.m. when the incident took place. The officer was reportedly dragged for approximately five feet when he approached the vehicle that had pulled over for the traffic stop.
The driver was later arrested at 36th and Benning Road, NE.
