D.C. police search for man who allegedly sexually assaulted woman at knifepoint

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - D.C. police are searching for a man who allegedly broke into a woman's apartment in Southeast early Saturday morning and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint.

The incident reportedly took place in the 4200 block of 7th Street SE.

The adult female resident told police she was awakened at around 5:15 a.m. by a noise - and then saw an unknown man, armed with a knife, inside of her apartment.

The woman said the suspect sexually assaulted her and then fled.

The suspect was described as a black male, between 5'3" and 5'7" in height, wearing black clothing, a black mask and armed with a silver knife.

Metropolitan Police are asking for anyone who may have seen anything in the area to contact the department. Anyone with information should call 202-727-9099 or send a text message to 50411.

D.C. Crime Solvers currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an assault committed in the District of Columbia.
