A Howard County father will likely face murder charges after he allegedly shook his 6-week-old daughter to death.

Howard County Police officials say that 26-year-old Aron James Krampf shook his daughter Tuesday afternoon in an attempt to stop her from crying. A short time later, paramedics were called to Krampf's Elkridge home because the girl had lost consciousness and wasn't breathing.

The infant died early Wednesday morning at Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital after suffering from brain hemorrhaging and fractures throughout her body.

Krampf has already been charged with first and second-degree assault, child abuse and reckless endangerment. Authorities anticipate adding a murder charge.

He's being held at a Howard County jail on $1 million bond.
