The Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning people to discontinue the use of a Target-brand children's cup after six young children were injured while using them.
CPSC officials announced Friday that a voluntary recall of about 264,000 Target Home Bunny Sippy Cups was being ordered and that consumers should stop using them immediately. They say that the plastic bunny ear on the cup can poke children in the eye while using the cup for drinking.
Target says they've received reports of six such incidents, three of which resulted in cuts and bruises to children.
Customers can identify the recalled cups by checking imprints on the bottom of the cups. The imprint reads "TARGET 200020683" on pink cups and "TARGET 200020884" on blue cups. The cups were sold for $3 each at Target stores from February through April 5 of this year.
Officials say the cups can be returned to any Target store for a full refund. Target has more than 40 stores in the greater D.C. area.
