NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. (WJLA) -- Ten thousand people with ten thousand different reasons are all working toward the same objective: finding a job.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Tanger Outlets is hosting a massive job fair to get ready for the new mall at National Harbor. And job seekers are flooding in by the bus load.
"I'm interested in whatever you have available," says Tierra Cole to a hiring representative. Cole has been out of work for close to two years and with two kids at home, she's looking for a career.
"So I want to be able to lead by example," Cole says. "I want to show them that you can't just be at home doing nothing -you have to be out there after school getting a job."
And positions come by the dozens -from jewelers to Jockey, Johnny Rockets to J. Crew, retailers are looking to hire before the mall officially opens.
"The point of today is really to get to know the brands," says Christi Wallace of Tanger Outlets.
Some companies are doing on-site interviews, while some are just accepting applications -- but the bottom line is that Tanger Outlets has to fill 900 full and part-time positions by the time the mall opens in November.
"This is a really incredible day for us," Wallace says. "It really sets the pace for us to say 'we're gonna get it done, we're gonna open in two months.' So, we're really excited."
With so many options, recent college graduate Antonio Sanders says he's just excited about the opportunity.
"So to me there has to be a job out there for me somewhere," Sanders says.
The event runs through September 18th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex in Fort Washington, MD.
