Taco Bell drops kid's meals from menu

Taco Bell has become the first national fast food chain to do away with kid's meals, CNN reports, with plans to eliminate them in all of its restaurants nationwide by early 2014.

Taco Bell's CEO, Greg Creed, tells CNN that the move would likely have very little impact on total sales. The brand's parent company, Yum Brands, has not said whether or not they'll pull back kid's menus from its other restaurants, which include Pizza Hut and KFC.

Many brands across the spectrum of fast food have repeatedly been criticized for offering kid's meals that nutritional experts say contribute to a drastic uptick in childhood obesity.

By mid-morning Tuesday, Taco Bell had taken down a web page which featured its kid's meals.
